In defense of ANTM and Tyra: I have been watching Superstar and Janice Dickinson now and then at least half of the shoots are sexual. I'm no prude and maybe sex is the future of advertising but it is a very specific set of skills.
I think ANTM has a broader approach to the skills required.
Superstar is very slick and gorgeous but come on, fetish on show 3 or 4 (very hot and fun, but)?
And we all know Janice is just crazy in a way that makes Tyra look like the poster child for mental health...
So I am looking forward to the next season of ANTM, when I expected to be burned out by these other shows.

Wed, February 13, 2008 - 5:41 PMI thought the same thing ~M. Sex has been selling everything from Cigarettes to Cars and everything in between since there were those things to sell.
Anyhoo - no one here hates ANTM so there is no reason to defend it. Sure we mock, belittle and generally laugh at all of their antics - but without this show we would be bored, and sober on Wednesday nights. Just because we're not all "so and so is soooo pretty and she is just going to be the BEST model ever!!" doesn't mean we don't care. Besides - have you seen how some of these "women" behave?? Please - they need manners.
