This actually look pretty cool. The hosts look a LOT less irritating, the models less dumb, and "smokin' hot guys" in the mix. (Even a het like me thinks they are pretty hot.)

Mon, January 7, 2008 - 10:40 AMAs much as I think Nikki and Tyson are cute, they are BLAND. But hopefully give it some time. I agree otherwise, it looks like it might be a good show. -

Re: Make Me a Supermodel
Mon, January 7, 2008 - 11:54 AMDidn't you guys watch the premiere last Wednesday?? I'll watch this show. I like that (apparently) viewers get to vote, kind of Idol style, for who progresses, so it's less likely to be rigged like, um, some other modeling competitions that a few of us may watch.
Even though they got some good girls, none of them really strike me as interesting; but there are like four guys in the finals that I would make out with the TV screen when they came on. My favorite is Dominic, but I also like that Ben guy (the married cop). Igor, who is shown in the promo commercials, didn't actually make it to the finals, which sucked because I'd do him. I mean, make him a supermodel or whatever.
I thought Niki was OK back in her day, but she has definitely not aged well. Just by looking at her now I would've never guessed she used to be a model. But wasn't she in a car accident a few years back? Maybe she had to get some facial reconstruction or something... hmm... And while Tyson is short for a male model, he did actually give the guys some good pointers when they were having the semifinalists walk in front of the judges, which I thought was cool. Niki just kind of stood back and smiled a lot but never really gave any helpful advice to anyone. -

Mon, January 7, 2008 - 11:59 AMI also like Perry. I totally forgot --- so what's the deal with Shannon? She told the judges that she's really a boy, and then they never said anything further on the subject. Is it really a man? Must google now.... -

Tue, January 8, 2008 - 2:05 PMI just checked, and technically it was a "pre-premiere" called "Meet the Models", and it's on a thousand times between now and Thursday, and also right before the new episode I think. -

Re: Make Me a Supermodel
Fri, January 11, 2008 - 7:32 AMThis is what ANTM should've been....
ANTM gets James St. James, and MMaS gets Debbie Deitering. Before they even introduced her, I could tell it was her from the quick pan-n-scan profile shot they did of her. I also like how Tyson gives them tips and advice during the photo shoot instead of, you know, um, afterwards at judging when they're about to get kicked off.
Going into it Dominic was my favorite, but now I'm all about Perry (anyone who has a vogue-off in the stairway of their house and does the whip the head back and fall down onto one bended leg must win), Ben, and Shannon. Where did Ben lose twenty pounds from, though?? In his defense, they did tell him he had slight love handles in the pre-premiere. I'd like Jacki, but her nose is all wrong.
I noticed the prize includes a spread in GQ, so I assume they're going to massage it so a guy wins. -

There are plenty of female spreads in GQ. That magazine is not quite *completely* gay.

Re: Make Me a Supermodel
Fri, January 11, 2008 - 9:12 PMI really liked last night's episode, save for the bizarre beginning, when Tyson seemed to be channeling Jay Manuel as he was taunting the models to burn their own clothes out in the cold New York winter air. I actually found that uncomfortable to watch, especially since there was NO REASON why they should need to do such a thing as get rid of their clothes in such a wasteful way. Also, Tyson's whole, "When I see Nikki, I'm going to tell her who wants it the most" bullshit just made me want to reach through the TV and slap both sides of his face.
Once that nonsense was out of the way, though, it was a really good episode. I dig Holly--bad haircut or no, I find her charming. I also love Perry (he's the prison guard, right?), but Frankie totally bugs.
I'm into this show! -

Re: Make Me a Supermodel
Thu, January 17, 2008 - 9:02 AMOK yeah, the first real episode was pretty good.
Freezing ass cold photo shoots in the middle of time square? Welcome to the world of modeling!
The girl that said she was a boy...not a boy. The's just a tomboy. Who, with a major overhaul, could be quite awkward beautiful. Not a winner though. She wore the THONG on that runway!
I love Perry and Dominic as well and I hope he doesn't get voted off. He's too yummy.
My favorite was the overall winner that night, Holly. She already looks like she's on the Prada campaign. I can't believe they didn't like her haircut. It's totally cute. I wonder what kind of makeover she'll get?! -

Just another example of the fashion/modeling sycophants trying to make it all seem more important or 'meaningful' than it EVER is......
