I don't know, I thought it was really hypocritical to chastise Kim for not being interested in fashion. Most big-name models really don't care about clothes. OK, so maybe Linda did/does, but Christy, Kate, Shalom, Amber --- none of them ever wore any of that stuff. You just have to pretend to like it when you're on the runway or doing a photo shoot. I'm sure Tyra wasn't interested in fashion when she first started out....

I appreciate that they're trying to bring awareness to good causes (although apparently only for a minute, since last cycle they were all about the diesel-fuel strech Hummer and this cycle they're back to a gas-guzzler again...), and homelessness is important to make sure people are aware of, but the execution is really pandering. Homeless youth don't look like hobos. I mean, come on. And Tyra putting dirt on her face for the Tyra Banks Talk Show Featuring Tyra Banks so she could experience what it was like to be homeless for a day was just plain insulting. I volunteered at a youth homeless shelter here in NYC last summer and none of those kids was dirty or dressed like Boxcar Willie. Oh, and that Isis lady was on the MSNBC "Born the Wrong Gender" series recently (she's trans), and she wasn't homeless when that aired, so I was kind of suspicious about that.

I thought for sure it was going to be Lauren who was going to quit and not Kim, but the horror theme music they played when she was telling someone she didn't like fashion should've been my first clue.

I saw Miss Jay at a show last week and s/he's surprisingly really tall. I expected himer to be short for some reason, but he looked like he was about 6'3". AND... he was wearing a hoodie, so apparently he's not really into expensive designer clothes either, especially at a time when you should be wearing it.

I also saw Milagros Schmoll on our flight back to NYC. She's the model in the second runway photo of the Badgley Mischka shots they showed before the ANTM girls did their "fashion show" ( www.style.com/slideshows/...Y/00270m.jpg ). Kristina Kruse was also on the flight (she was a model about ten years ago). Now, not to knock any of the ANTM girls and their dreams, but just looking at Milagros Schmoll, or even Kristina ten years after the fact, you can totally tell she's a model. You just know. Looking at these girls on ANTM? Not models...
